Centers for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents, as supplementary educational spaces, play a significant role in providing cultural and educational services and fostering creativity. However, in recent years, public interest in these centers has declined. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the spatial performance of Centers for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents in Isfahan, based on spatial hierarchy and using the Space Syntax technique. The research is descriptive-analytical with a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative), and the case samples include two centers from the Second Pahlavi era and two centers from the Islamic Republic era. The results indicate that buildings from the Second Pahlavi era, due to their appropriate original design, have exhibited better spatial performance; however, inappropriate interior decoration in recent years has reduced their spatial efficiency. In contrast, buildings from the Islamic Republic era have demonstrated moderate spatial performance, which is attributed to their inflexible structures. Indicators such as visual access, depth, entropy, and integration indicate that interior layout and principled design can have a considerable impact on improving spatial performance and enhancing social interactions in these centers. The study emphasizes that revising interior design and applying the principles of spatial hierarchy can contribute to enhancing the functionality of these centers.
